  • Professional SCSI and Vector SCSI use the same hardware, but have different ROMs
  • Professional SCSI:
    • not compatible with Rigid Disk Block (RDB) standard
    • uses jkscsi16hk.device
    • three different ROMs available:
      • ROM 1: for Kickstart 1.2, autoconfigures but doesn't support autoboot
      • ROM 2: for Kickstart 1.3, features autoconfiguration and autoboot
      • ROM 3: allows switching between ROM 1 and ROM 2, to support Kickstart switchers
  • Vector SCSI:
    • Rigid Disk Block (RDB) compatible
    • uses vector.device
    • Autoboot ROM (vector.device) - autobooting requires at least Kickstart 1.3
  • disable jumper
  • does not work with some Seagate and Fujitsu hard disks
  • developed by W. Heinen and Jürgen Kommos
