    SCSI Controller
  • internal hard disk controller for the Zorro II bus
  • features a 5380 SCSI Controller IC and a Motorola MC68440 DMA Controller IC
  • uses DMA transfers
  • autoboot ROM - autobooting requires at least Kickstart 1.3
  • 50 pin internal header
  • DB25 external connector
  • hard disk activity LED connector
  • three mounting holes for attaching a SCSI to ST-506 adapter
    Notes
  • one example of the early DMA designs, uses a non-DMA SCSI controller together with a 68k DMA controller as I/O transfer engine - the performance was lacking, therefore for the later generations, Supra switched to a design with programmed I/O (PIO) with the same SCSI controller chip which resulted in increased CPU load (no DMA transfers)
