- Weather Fax Demodulator
- converts AM Fax (Amplitude Modulation) into AFSK FM Fax (Audio Frequency Shift Keying), which allows Fax decoders to support AM modulated satellite signals as transmitted by GEOS satellites or polar orbiting satellites at 137 MHz
- marketed as add-on board for the Amiga Video Terminal, but can be used in conjunction with other AFSK Fax decoders as well
- expansion features a control relay that triggers whenever a transmission is detected (detection of the 2400 Hz carrier) - this allows automatic recording (e.g. on tape) and is particularly useful whenever an orbiting satellite is passing over
- board outputs a special analog clock signal, to be recorded on the second channel of an automatic recording
- the special sync clock signal can be fed back to the Overview APT during tape playback, which synchronises to the recorded signal and provides it to the Amiga Video Terminal - for that feature, a modification of the AVT is necessary
