Amiga
A1200
Interface
IDE header, Gayle
Fast EIDE Controller
buffered and terminated 4 drive IDE adapter for the internal IDE port of A1200
small board connects to Gayle chip ("Express Adapter") which increases the transfer speed to ≥ 5.1 MByte/s
allows long cable connections by shielding the Amiga from noise on the IDE port
intended to connect external CD-ROM drives / writers and hard disks
three IDE headers:
2× 40 pin, 3.5" (primary and secondary)
1× 44 pin, 2.5" (primary)
disable jumper
the two ports does not behave as though they were separate interfaces, accessing them simultaneously causes slowdown
units on the secondary port don't signal the drive light
delivered with IDEfix '97 IDE driver, CacheCDFS CD-ROM filesystem and CD32 emulator
supports removable devices
allows drives >4GB by supporting TD64 commands
expansion is 20% slower than the
Power Flyer Junior
features the same 4 way adapter as the
IDE-fix
(revision 2, black color)
