    Memory Expansion
  • internal 2 MB ChipRAM expansion
  • ACE2 stands for 'Amiga Chipram Extender 2MB'
  • uses one 1M×16 DRAM chip
  • plugs into the Agnus PLCC socket
  • an adapter is installed into the Gary socket, the chip is replaced onto the adapter - this provides signals of pin 35 and 36 to the expansion
  • ECS Agnus 8375B, which allows a total of 2 MB chip RAM, is soldered on the PCB
  • the Agnus is switchable between PAL and NTSC, but always starts up in NTSC
  • with ACA500 or ACA500plus, the video mode in which the Amiga starts can be configured
  • memory of trapdoor RAM expansions is disabled, the RTC on it remains active (if present)
  • compatible board revisions: A2000 ≥v4.1, A500 ≤v7, CDTV all revisions
    Notes
  • as the unit features 2 MB RAM, the Chip RAM on the mainboard is not used any longer
  • revision b of the expansion (ACE2b) features a different PCB design, but is functionally identical
