Supra was founded in 1985 by John Wiley and Alan Ackerman in Albany (OR), USA. When CardCo went out of business in 1986, the rights to produce their expansions were bought out by Supra.
In the late 80's, Supra started production of Amiga expansions (mainly SCSI controllers, modems and RAM expansions) and peripherals. Supra announced later, that the development of a 040 accelerator has started, but the product never reached the market.
After the demise of the Amiga market, the company started producing communications hardware and software for the PC and Mac market, and in 1995, Supra merged with Diamond Multimedia and became a separate division of it.
