CMI was founded in 1986 and produced various Amiga accessories, video expansions and, starting in 1988, processor accelerators.
The company did also remittance work for C-Ltd and designed in the first time all of their expansions.

In 1989, CMI had discontinued operation. After CMI went out of business, the product line (except the KickStart Eliminator), including the inventory, had been sold to DigiFex.
